Reilly's First Solid Food!

Since my parents live in Florida, they will unfortunately miss some of Reilly's "Firsts". Therefore we decided to give Reilly a taste of rice cereal while they were visiting so they could be present for a "First". It didn't hurt that Reilly was given an engraved Tiffany's spoon from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. Yes, my daughter was literally feed with a silver spoon. What have we gotten oursleves into?!

Now, I do feel compelled to note: rice cereal is hardly solid food. I was expecting we'd be giving her something the consistency of oatmeal. No. Rice cereal is thicker then breast milk in the way the cream is thicker then skim milk... Still we had a great time, not sure how much Reilly enjoyed herself, but she did eat some of it - which I was surprised about b/c it tastes like cardboard. Yes, I ate some. We're going to wait another month to really start giving her solids. I have a feeling she'll like to avocados and sweet potatoes a little better. Who wouldn't?
